Rev. Dr. Michael Thomas
 The
rev. Dr. Michael Thomas has joined Zion Lutheran
Church as Senior Pastor as of January 16, 2010.
His goals include helping to equip people for ministry at
and beyond Zion, promoting discipleship opportunities for
prayer and Bible study and challenging people to grow in
their faith and generosity. He is also planning to further
develop Zion’s relationships with the Mid-Town Parish, Zion
Development Corp. and Patriot’s Gateway Center.
Pastor Thomas said:
I am eager to begin leading the congregation at Zion.
My background provides the skills to continue the great work
Zion has been doing in the church and the community; I plan
to build on that history.
Pastor Thomas has served in the ministry since 1988, most
recently as the Mission Developer at Living Waters Lutheran
Church in Crystal Lake Illinois since 1998. He earned a
Doctorate of Ministry in Preaching from the Lutheran School
of Theology.
