Zion After-School Tutoring Program
is an accredited Supplemental Educational Services
(SES) Provider of the Illinois State Board of
Education. Our focus is on K-5 students who need
help in reading and mathematics skills.
Zion After-School Tutoring will:
Assist students to learn skills to do homework
Provide personalized attention prescribed by the
results of a basic assessment of skills test
Offer a safe, secure environment
Provide a well-equipped computer lab for
instruction
Provide qualified, caring educators
Broaden the academic experiences of each student
Help parents help their children
Time Commitment:
Two hours of tutoring per session
Four hours of tutoring per week
Fifty hours of tutoring per contract
Fall, winter, spring, summer sessions
Cost:
Free to students eligible under the No Child Left
Behind federal law, meeting income and academic
guidelines, who attend qualifying schools in
Rockford School District #205.

After-School Tutoring takes place in a safe, caring
environment where instructors provide an
individualized learning plan that meets the needs of
each student. An after-school snack is provided.
Students receive part of their daily instruction and
practice by means of the latest technology.
Highly-skilled instructors work with children in
small groups, or one-on-one as needed. Parents
receive regular communications.
Zion After-School Tutoring

Our program offers reading and
math assistance to those students who are struggling
to reach or maintain grade level proficiency. Our
methods instill confidence and skills to enable
students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade to
overcome their academic obstacles. We individualize
instruction to include the following areas needed by
each student:
